You start in the fishing village of Ponta do Sol and follow the paved road towards Fontainhas. The impressive road\u00a0 to Fontainhas takes about one hour and is characterized by the huge mountain slopes on its left side and steep abysses on the right. The village of Fontainhas, which seems like an eagle\u2019s nest hanging on the mountainside, is one of the most impressive places in Cape Verde and an absolute must-visit for every Santo Ant\u00e3o visitor. It is also possible to reach Fontainhas by car.
